![]() MADBOOTS DANCE is an all-male queer company made up of five dancers and led by Jonathan Campbell and Austin Diaz. To honor Pride week, two queer contemporary dance companies will perform. Dance the night away with 80s classics by Madonna, Wham! and Michael Jackson. Queered re-creations of iconic 80’s music videos will be performed live and choreographed by Breton Tyner-Bryan, Sidney Erik Wright and Shiloh Goodin and several drag performers, including Chelsea Piers, will be featured. On Friday, June 15 in Long Island City, The Plaxall Gallery will become 1983 to honor the legendary gay dance party held at The Pyramid Club in the East Village. The city’s Pride celebration is technically on Sunday, June 24, but here are a few LGBTQ events and performances to honor the festivities. What better way to honor the festivities than with some dancing? NYC’s official LGBT Pride Week-a commemoration of the Stonewall Riots of 1969, which marked the beginning of Gay Rights Movement-is upon us.
